19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples* were, for fear of the Jews,

Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

2.   “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
(John 20:22) — As He breathed on them, giving them spiritual authority.

22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,  “Receive the holy Spirit.”

3.   “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven.”
(John 20:23) — Instituting the ministry of forgiveness.

4.   “Put your finger here… do not be unbelieving, but believe.”
(John 20:27) — Said to Thomas, inviting him to faith.

27  Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be

5.  “Feed my lambs… tend my sheep.”
(John 21:15–17) — Spoken to Peter, entrusting him with pastoral care.

      Jesus and Peter.

15  When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,* “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”

He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”

16 He then said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you

”He said to him, Tend my sheep.”

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that he had

said to him a third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”

[Jesus] said to him, “Feed my sheep.”

6.   “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”
(Matthew 28:19–20) — The Great Commission.

   The Commissioning of the Disciples.

19  Go, therefore,* and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit,

20  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. "And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

7.   “You will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8) — A final charge before His Ascension.

   The Ascension of Jesus.

8 But you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in

Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
